THE EIFFEL TOWER

LA BOURDONNAIS LOVES THE EIFFEL TOWER

She is elegant, slender. She is the symbol of Paris throughout the world...the Eiffel Tower.

There's no doubt about it, the Eiffel Tower has been a must-see monument in Paris for more than a century. Come to Paris and miss it? You can't. Whether you are in the center or in the heights of the city, you will inevitably see it pointing its nose.  She welcomes 7 million visitors every year, which makes it one of the most visited monuments in the world.

Recognized as a great lady on the international scene, the Iron Lady is always in the spotlight. She is the scene of many world events, and takes on the role of an actress in many fields.  She plays in the cinema, and inspires various artists such as painters, sculptors, writers, photographers... Many of us have taken pictures with her!

THE IRON LADY, THE NUMBER ONE MONUMENT IN FRANCE

We strongly advise you to climb the tower. There is no more beautiful view to contemplate the City of Light. From up there, we have a clear view of the city in motion with its famous monuments: the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, and Notre-Dame...

But how many meters do we have to go before reaching the top? 330. Rest assured, the Eiffel Tower has 5 elevators, 4 of which are located in its East, South, North and West pillars. Look up from the forecourt, and you'll already be amazed, impressed and in awe.

It took only 2 years, 2 months and 5 days of construction to erect it in time for the 1889 World's Fair as part of the 1st centenary of the French Revolution. A record time for a construction of 10 100 tons composed of 18 038 pieces of iron. This was possible thanks to the mobilization of 50 engineers and designers, 300 workers on site, and Gustave Eiffel, its architect.

Inside the Tower, we have a real experience of emptiness, a spectacular view, dining areas, and at the top we hear nothing but the sound of the wind. All the emotions and sensations flow through us. However, you should not be afraid of heights...

We recommend that you visit the monument with the free mobile tour guide, and continue your day by dining at the Jules Verne located on the 2nd floor at 125 meters high, starred restaurant of Chef Frederic Anton. And to close the evening, sit down on the grass of the Champ-de-Mars to admire the Tower which sparkles during the first 5 minutes of each hour.  Its beacon shines on Paris!
